Murder Mystery at the Abbey

As the night drew dark and the cold air settled over Delapré Abbey, our team stepped into the world of 1920’s Birmingham. The ominous walk from the car park to the Abbey entrance set the scene, we were about to become detectives in a murder mystery we couldn’t resist.

There’s something quite special about leaving the office behind and stepping into a world of theatrics, costumes, and quick thinking, and that’s exactly what happened at our Peaky Blinders themed networking event at the historic Delapré Abbey in Northampton. Hosted brilliantly by Leah Bingham-Frost and Sheleendra Fernando, the evening blended drama, teamwork, and plenty of humour as our guests worked together to untangle the clues of a lively murder mystery.

Delapré Abbey added an incredible backdrop, its historic rooms and candlelit atmosphere heightening the realism and giving the evening a cinematic quality. The competition was fierce, but Anthony Hart, Adam Dodd, Jasmine Dunlop-Holmes, Lisa Greenwood, Rebecca Bacon, Gemma Davies, Aya Mohamed, and I, better known as the “Peaky Builders”, not only cracked the case, but also unearthed the most clues, ultimately securing a well-deserved win.

It was an evening of laughter, mystery, and unforgettable immersion, reminding us how valuable shared experiences can be, helping us build stronger connections, spark creativity, and enjoy time together outside our usual routines.
