Becoming a 24/Three BIMfluencer: Confessions of a digital enabler

Being a BIMfluencer at 24/Three means being part mentor, part detective, part enthusiastic file-namer. It’s about helping the team do what we do best - only smarter, more efficiently, and with fewer model meltdowns (hopefully).

So buckle up, model wranglers and data dreamers - it’s going to be a ride.

Six months ago, I was handed the keys to the digital kingdom, or, more accurately, the responsibility of dragging our studio’s BIM processes out of well-meaning chaos and into structured, scalable clarity. Armed with Archicad, a head full of CPD sessions, and more ambition than sense, I stepped into the newly formed role of BIM Manager at 24/Three.

I knew it wasn’t going to be glamorous. No one becomes a BIM Manager for the applause (not that anyone claps when you rename 600 layers or ‘encourage’ them to retrain in the dark arts of Archicad), but I wasn’t prepared for just how deep the rabbit hole would go.

This blog series is both a confession and a quiet celebration - of the highs, lows, and mild emotional breakdowns of taking 24/Three deeper into the world of BIM. Expect tales of endless template updates, to the never-ending internal debates over which grey to use for the dashed, or dashed-dot, line (we're still not over the decision), to the freshly finished draft of a 40-page BIM Manual - now nervously awaiting review.

It’s not perfect, but it’s real, and sometimes, that’s enough.
